A key attraction at CES 2019 for the automotive industry was the demonstration of various automotive cyber security-related products and technologies. Companies such as Karamba Security, SafeRide Technologies, Trillium Secure, ZeroDayGuard, and Upstream Security showcased their automotive cyber security solutions. Upstream Security introduced a program that can provide protection inside and outside vehicles. It also enables transformational technologies under development. SafeRide Technologies launched vXRay, a behavioral profiling and anomaly detection technology for connected vehicles’ Security Operation Centers (SOC). It can be seamlessly integrated into customers’ connected vehicles’ SOC independently of vehicle architecture or ECU sourcing. Trillium Secure offered a full-scale experience of its mobility services platform at CES 2019.

Check Point Buys Cybersecurity Startup ForceNock to Boost API Protection
Cybersecurity pioneer, Check Point Software (California, US) recently acquired the Israel-based, web application security startup, ForceNock Security Ltd. There is growing usage of platforms built on cloud, network, mobile, endpoint, and IoT and they require compatible and easily accessible solutions that can run on any platform. This acquisition would enable Check Point to provide high-end security to its customers and strengthen its machine learning protection capabilities.

McAfee teams up with Verizon to secure connected IoT devices for homes
Cybersecurity pioneer, McAfee recently collaborated with Verizon to secure connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices throughout a home network with Verizon’s Home Network Protection (HNP). HNP is a service on Verizon’s Fios Quantum Gateway Router that automatically protects all connected devices in a home network, such as smart thermostats and smart refrigerators. This McAfee-powered solution would provide Verizon Fios customers seamless control, security from malicious websites, advanced parental controls, and user authorization and authentication.
